About Phil Hemsley

Phil Hemsley is a graduate of the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in the UK. He holds a senior technical role in a multinational company in the power industry, has presented papers at international conferences and holds many patents. He has lived on both sides of the faith fence. He is married, with two daughters.

Phil has an inquiring mind and is never happy to accept explanations without understanding why. He has spent many hours investigating how God, science and personal experience might fit together. His latest book “The Big Picture” brings much of this thinking together.

Phil also puts his beliefs into practice. He was co-founder of the Casa Reom Trust, visiting and raising funds for street children in Mozambique. He has assisted in chapel services in his local prison, and he has worked part time for the Christian charity CVM. More recently Phil typically spends two evenings a week jointly leading a youth group, and is a director of the Greater Things (Rugby) charity. He is a regular blogger, and broadcasts ‘Reflections’ on local radio.
